Pretended to fully understand quantum entanglement for years before actually sitting down and reading a real explanation of it properly

For the longest time, "superposition" was one of those words that sounded intuitive but really wasn't.

It's easy to nod along and think "multiple states at once" and leave it there.

Actually digging into how measurement collapses that state made it click much later.

Before that, it was just a fancy buzzword :-\

"Quantum supremacy" was mine.

Used it casually thinking it meant general superiority.

Turns out it's a very narrow concept tied to specific computational tasks.

Not nearly as broad as it sounds.

Name definitely does more work than the definition :)

Spent way too long pretending to understand "decoherence."

People throw it around like it's obvious.

In reality, it's a pretty subtle idea about systems interacting with their environment.

Once it clicked, a lot of other concepts made more sense.

"Entanglement" felt like one of those terms everyone claims to get.

Correlation across distance, sure.

But the non-classical part is where it gets tricky.

Took a while to stop oversimplifying it :P
Quantum computer said maybe, so I'm calling it a win

Error correction sounded straightforward at first.

Then you realize quantum error correction doesn't copy states like classical systems.

That's where things get weird fast.

Definitely nodded along before actually reading into it.

"Noisy intermediate-scale quantum" or NISQ.

Used the acronym like it was obvious.

Only later realized it's basically an admission that current systems are limited and error-prone.

Important concept, but not as glamorous as it sounds ::)

"Variational algorithms" got me for a while.

Thought it was just another optimization method.

The hybrid quantum-classical loop aspect took longer to sink in.

It's more nuanced than the name suggests.
