What best boxing fight are people actually happy with long term?

Something worth debating properly rather than just shouting about.

The stats back one argument but the eye test says something different.

I am trying to make a decision and the usual sources are not giving me a straight answer.

For me it is hard to beat Hagler vs Hearns. That first round felt like someone had turned the sport into a five minute thunderstorm. Two great fighters just decided there was no point easing into it.

People talk about technical perfection, but sometimes the fights that stick are the ones where you remember exactly where you were watching them. That one still gets mentioned decades later for a reason

A lot of people will pick Ali vs Frazier III and I can understand why. The fight itself is almost impossible to separate from the story around it, the personalities, the history, everything leading up to it.

The funny thing with boxing is that a fight does not always need to be pretty to become legendary. Sometimes it is the drama, the momentum swings, and wondering how either man is still standing that makes it special.

Wilder vs Fury 3 was chaos in the best possible way. The knockdowns, the comeback moments, and the fact that both looked finished at different points made it one of those modern fights people will still bring up years from now.

That said, I do miss some of the old heavyweight battles where fighters were not spending half the round trying to lean on each other. Watching old footage sometimes feels like a different sport compared with some of today's slower tactical contests
