Not because we have run out of things to say.
Because we have moved past the thinner

explanations into something better.
We hand things without being asked.
We know when to talk and when to let it
just sit there, quietly unmasked.

This reminds me of old couples sitting together in a cafe and barely speaking, yet somehow looking completely comfortable. Younger people see that and think something is wrong, but sometimes it is the opposite.
