What's the best promo of 2026 so far and who is doing the best character work?

[Forge45]

We are six months into 2026. Roman Reigns reclaimed the World Heavyweight Title at Clash in Italy, Jacob Fatu's acknowledgement on Raw was a major moment, Seth Rollins is continuing to be one of the most watchable characters in the business, and the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments are underway. Setting aside the matches themselves - who is doing the best promo and character work in WWE and AEW right now and what specifically makes it land

[DarkMatter24]

CM Punk's character work in AEW and then his return arc in WWE set a template that very few people can match. The ability to blur the line between worked and real is what makes a great promo and very few people in the current roster do it at his level

Seth Rollins is the most consistently entertaining character in WWE across all formats - in-ring, promo, backstage segment. The Visionary persona has layers that reward paying attention and he adjusts the character based on who he is working with in a way that makes every feud feel different

[BiscuitTin]

Roman Reigns returning to face Fatu was the booking payoff of a story that ran for years. The promo work building to Clash in Italy was exceptional because the dynamic between them was genuinely complicated and the performances reflected that complexity

[Aisha]

AEW's Samoa Joe doing quiet menace is underrated. He does not need to scream or be outrageous. The stillness and the specific threat in how he delivers every line makes him more convincing as a danger than almost anyone else in the industry right now

[Seb83]

Oba Femi has the physical presence and the intensity but the promo work needs development. He is being pushed correctly but the character needs a hook beyond being physically imposing before it can sustain a main event programme long-term

[VioletBarrel]

Sami Zayn deserves to be in this conversation. His ability to be genuinely funny, then genuinely vulnerable, then genuinely angry within the same promo segment is a skill that most wrestlers spend their entire career not developing
