Yeah, I definitely feel like winter gets harder every year, but I also think I've just become less tolerant of being cold and dark for months on end.

When I was younger it was just "oh it's winter", now it feels like a full lifestyle disruption. The lack of daylight really messes with my energy more than it used to

Cold, crisp, maybe snow. The problem is the muddy, grey version we usually get. That's the depressing part, not the cold itself

When you're a kid you're outside no matter what the weather is, but as an adult you're just kind of stuck in artificial lighting all day. That probably makes winter feel worse

Winter mornings are brutal, no argument there. That moment when the alarm goes off and it is still pitch black outside just feels wrong on a biological level.

What makes it worse is the cold floor, cold air, everything feels like resistance. Even small things like getting dressed feel like effort.
