Wanted to ask here rather than trust random search results.

Part of the reason I asked is because I would rather get a range of actual opinions.

Would be interested to hear from people at different stages of experience with this, not just experts.

What I am really asking is where the edges of the commonly given advice are and when it stops being true. :D

What is the general feeling here?
Still figuring it all out

Seems like it from what I have seen. Curious to see how this develops

I thought that too until I actually tried it. The fastest fix is often just checking what is running in the background and killing half of it.

That is how I would approach it anyway

A lot of these things sound better than they are. Worth doing even if the saving is small

Okay that makes more sense than what I had in my head. That is genuinely useful

That is the sensible route. I have done similar and the prep mattered more than the expensive bits.

Worth doing it properly rather than rushing it

I would push back on that slightly. Event viewer is your friend on Windows, most people never look at it.

That is how I would approach it anyway. :P

I did not know that, good to know. Appreciate the detail

Cheeky Shaun

That was not my experience at all. Definitely worth picking up
