That works in theory but the prep is more involved than it sounds. Measure twice and all that, but also factor in that it always takes longer than you think.

Take your time with it and it will come out well
I read every reply. Even the bad ones.

Steady Dylan

Okay that makes more sense than what I had in my head. I will dig into that further. ::)

Warden

Turned out alright in the end doing it that way. Usually the annoying part is not the job itself, it is fixing the bit you did not plan for.

Post a photo when it is done

HeartbreakKidOscar97

Not fully convinced by that part of it. That is how I would approach it anyway. ;)

GreenEcho

I might be missing something but that feels off to me. Worth reading more about this. :-[

That is genuinely helpful, cheers. Appreciate the detail
My team is always one signing away

The terms and conditions usually tell a different story. Good to know about

Andy89

If I am honest I agree completely. Good debate though, fair play. :D

Brittle Coder

Not sure I am fully with you on that one. Appreciate it

Supergirl finally getting proper attention in the new DC direction feels overdue
She has always had the potential to stand on her own instead of just being "Superman's cousin"
If they lean into her alien perspective properly this could be one of the most interesting entries in the reboot

Hollow Pete

What I am hoping for most is that they keep her optimism but not make her naive
A lot of past versions struggled with balancing hope and agency
If they get that tone right, she could easily become a cornerstone of the new universe

CMPunk

I am cautiously optimistic but I have been burned by DC reboots before
The character deserves better writing than just being a supporting echo of Superman
Give her her own arc, her own villains, her own identity and I am fully in

Sharp Shannon

Supergirl has always been underrated compared to the big names
People forget she has a much more complex backstory than just flying and punching things
The whole Krypton survivor angle has so much emotional depth to explore

CosmicRay40

If they do the Power Girl angle later down the line I will lose my mind in a good way
Multiverse versions of Kara always open up fun storytelling possibilities
But first they need to nail a single consistent version before branching out

ThreadNecro

I just hope they do not make her too grimdark like some of the recent DC interpretations
Not every hero needs to look like they have not slept since 2003
Let her actually smile once in a while, it will not break continuity

IdleWarden

Honestly Supergirl is one of those characters that works best when she contrasts Superman rather than imitates him
She should feel like a different emotional response to the same origin trauma
That difference is where the storytelling gold is

StoneCold_99

The reboot angle is interesting because it gives them a clean slate without old continuity baggage
But clean slates also mean they can mess it up from scratch if they are not careful
So yeah, excited but also mentally prepared for chaos
Question everything. Especially this.

Ellie_28

I remember the earlier live action versions and they were hit or miss depending on writing more than casting
So I am less worried about who plays her and more about the writing room decisions
That is usually where DC either wins big or fumbles

ProperJobs50

There is also the question of how much Superman we will see alongside her
If she is constantly framed through his shadow again it kind of defeats the purpose of a rebooted identity
Let her breathe on her own for a while before crossover overload

Foundry20

The best Supergirl stories are the ones where she is figuring out Earth in her own way
Not just reacting to Superman's world but actively shaping her own moral compass
That kind of character growth is what I am hoping the new universe prioritizes

Connor97

I kind of want them to lean into the fish out of water aspect more than usual
She is literally from a destroyed civilization trying to process a completely different culture
That contrast writes itself if they let it

Luca76

My worry is they will overcorrect and make her too powerful too fast
A character like Supergirl works best when she still has emotional stakes and limitations
Invincibility is boring, vulnerability is where the story lives
Opinions are my own. Obviously.

Solo Buffer

If they introduce Brainiac early as a shared villain arc between her and Superman that could be incredible
It ties Krypton lore together without forcing them into the same narrative box
Plus Brainiac is just visually cool when done right

BigDog92

The DC reboot really feels like a second chance era for a lot of characters
Supergirl included, especially after so many inconsistent portrayals over the years
This might be the cleanest shot she has had in a decade or more

Ruby_50

I am more curious about tone than plot at this point
Is she going to be hopeful sci-fi, grounded drama, or full comic book spectacle
Supergirl can actually handle all three if they balance it right

QubitZero13

People underestimate how important casting will be for this version
Not just acting ability but presence, warmth, and emotional clarity
Supergirl needs to feel both powerful and approachable at the same time

Dank15

It would be nice if they finally let her have a proper supporting cast of her own
Too many versions lean too heavily on Superman connections and forget she has her own world to build
Give her friends, conflicts, and a life outside capes

MurkyVoyager

I am looking forward to seeing how they handle Kryptonian culture through her perspective
Superman often represents hope, but Kara can represent loss and adaptation in a different way
That duality could add real depth to the universe
Posted from a machine that definitely needs a clean install

SingularityNodeKettle

If they go full cosmic early with her storyline I am totally here for it
DC tends to do better when they embrace weird space opera elements instead of grounding everything too hard
Supergirl fits that lane perfectly

Bob81

At the end of the day I just want a version that respects the character history without being chained to it
Reboots work best when they understand what made the character resonate in the first place
Supergirl's core has always been resilience wrapped in optimism

FinnHalliday

There is a version of this where she becomes the breakout character of the new DC universe
Not because of hype but because audiences connect with her perspective more than expected
That is what I am secretly hoping happens

BankHolidayBlues87

I am curious if they will explore her age and experience gap compared to Superman more deeply
That dynamic can create interesting tension without turning it into rivalry
It is more about perspective than competition

Glenn84

Supergirl has always had this interesting balance of strength and emotional openness
That combination is actually rare in superhero storytelling done well
If they preserve that, the reboot could really land

Rhys

If they mess up Supergirl again I swear I am done trusting DC reboots for a while
But if they get it right I will happily eat my words and rewatch everything
That is basically my relationship with this franchise at this point

Zero-Point

I think the real excitement is not just Supergirl herself but what her inclusion signals for the DC universe
It suggests they are willing to build a broader cosmic and emotional range early
That could be a very good sign for where things are headed
