Book adaptations always arrive with pressure. Fans want the feeling of the book, not just the plot, and that is often the hardest part to capture on screen.

Sometimes changes are necessary, but there is a difference between adapting something and sanding off everything that made it special. A good adaptation should feel like the same soul in a different body.

Which upcoming or recent book adaptation are you most nervous about, and what would it need to get right?
Still figuring it all out

The tone matters more than exact scenes. I can forgive changes if the atmosphere feels right

Casting is usually where I get nervous first. Once a character looks wrong in my head, it is hard to move past it

Pilgrim

A bad adaptation can make people misunderstand what was great about the book
