I can see arguments both ways which is usually a good sign.

People always overreact to recent form and forget the longer picture.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel the same way?

Ended up in the same place, yeah. I have done similar and the prep mattered more than the expensive bits.

The promoter question always gets messy because people judge on the last big card. A few months of good events can make someone look like a genius, but the real test is whether they consistently build fighters and create meaningful matchups over years.

For me, the best thing any promoter can do is make fans care about fighters who are not already superstars. Anyone can put two famous names together, but creating the next big name is where the skill really shows.
