Luke Humphries has won the World Grand Prix for the second time, coming from three sets down to beat Gerwyn Price 6-4 in Leicester on Sunday night, LiveDarts reports. It is his ninth major title overall, and it makes him only the fourth player to win the World Grand Prix more than once, after Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen and James Wade. For most of the first hour, though, it looked like Price's night

Price started with some of the best darts ever seen in this event. He averaged 132.62 in the first set, the highest set average in World Grand Prix history, then took the second set with finishes of 101 and 82 and went 3-0 up with a two dart 91 checkout. In a double in, double out format, that kind of start is remarkable. Few players could have come back from it

The turning point came in the fourth set. Price was waiting on tops to go 4-0 up when Humphries took out 105. From there, Humphries won nine of the next 13 legs to lead 4-3. Price levelled at 4-4, but Humphries closed out the match with a ten dart break and an 11 dart finish, averaging 107 in the final set

Humphries spoke about what the win meant after a run of defeats in major finals, saying it felt special to get that run off his back. "I needed this to give me a bit of confidence," he said. He was generous about his opponent too: "He is going to win a major title soon." Price took it with typical humour, telling DartsNews: "I don't think I want to win a major, do I?" before adding that he had "squandered so many opportunities"

Was this one of the great major final comebacks? And how long can Price's wait for another major title go on?

Price will win another major soon, as Humphries said. His level this week was outstanding. He just needs to keep it going for a whole final

One of the best finals I have watched in years. Price was untouchable early on, and I was sure it was over at 3-0

Humphries showed incredible nerve to turn it round. The atmosphere in Leicester must have been incredible as the comeback built
