Roman Reigns defeated CM Punk at WrestleMania 42 to win the World Heavyweight Championship, which is a huge result even by Roman standards. Punk going in as champion made the match feel genuinely big, but Roman winning suggests WWE still sees him as the central figure for the next major run. Some fans probably wanted Punk to survive the night, but Roman as champion opens the door to fresh challengers, a Bloodline reset, and another main-event era

I wanted Punk to win, but Roman taking the title makes sense if WWE is building another long-term power centre around him

The big question is who challenges Roman next. Cody, Punk again, Oba Femi, or even a Bloodline-related challenger could all work depending on the direction

Roman winning was predictable to some people, but predictable is not always wrong. Sometimes the biggest star winning the biggest match is the cleanest call

Punk losing does not have to hurt him if the follow-up is strong. He can blame one mistake, chase the rematch, or pivot into another major feud
