Thomas Tuchel announced England's official 26-man World Cup squad today May 29. The confirmed names include Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Jordan Henderson, and Jordan Pickford in goal. Cole Palmer is in despite the earlier leak suggesting he was out.

The significant omissions are Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford. Jack Grealish is absent. Jarrod Bowen makes it despite West Ham's relegation. Noni Madueke and Kobbie Mainoo both confirmed. Tuchel has named a squad with significant Champions League experience ahead of the June 11 opener.

World Cup 2026 squad lists: England, Scotland, Brazil, USA, Spain, France, Germany, Netherlands, Argentina, Portugal and more

Palmer making it after the leak suggested he was out is the best piece of England World Cup news this week. His ability in tight spaces is irreplaceable in the squad

Mainoo in the squad is the selection I am most excited about. A World Cup gives him the stage to show what he showed at Old Trafford all season

Sancho and Rashford both missing is a statement from Tuchel about what he requires from players off the pitch as much as on it. Both have had complicated club situations
It's only banter... mostly

Bowen making it despite West Ham's relegation is the right call based purely on form and what he brings. Relegation should not cost a player their international place if they played well

StarLord67

Henderson at this stage of his career in a World Cup squad is a selection that will divide opinion but Tuchel clearly values his experience and leadership off the pitch
I read every reply. Even the bad ones.

Hitman04

The depth at right back is the position I would have questions about. With the injuries this season the options behind Alexander-Arnold are thin

BigDog

A squad with Champions League experience throughout is the correct approach for a tournament where the knockout pressure is unlike anything in club football

Upsilon

13 clubs represented in the 26 means Tuchel has looked widely. No single club dominates the selection which is healthy
ISA maxed. Costs minimised.
