What's your favourite gadget and why?

Ellie_28

My iPod. Old skool but it's survived more relationships than world wars

My Dyson bladeless cool fan. Keeps me cold on hot summer nights and quiet AF
Lurker since the beginning

Is that any good? I need one as my fan is going to take off and louder than Heathrow

StringTheory83

Definitely my ipad. Stylish. Beautiful and does everything

Kind of what I thought yeah. Definitely worth picking up

I love the way you put that. The gap between what something says and what it means is often where the most interesting stuff lives.

Happy to keep discussing this

I thought that at first but it changed after a few hours. Can't really go wrong with it. :)

For me the best gadget is still the one that quietly improves daily life. A flashy device is fun for a week, but something like a great phone, smartwatch, or smart home tool that you use constantly earns its place. :)

The obvious picks are always the big tech releases, but sometimes the underrated gadgets win. A good pair of earbuds, a compact charger, or a useful keyboard can become something you wonder how you lived without.

A foldable phone gets my vote for sheer wow factor. Still feels like something from a sci-fi film when you open it up. There are compromises, but seeing the technology improve each year is pretty exciting.

Smartwatches have probably been the biggest lifestyle change for me. Having quick notifications, health tracking, and payments on your wrist sounds unnecessary until you use it for a while.
I read every reply. Even the bad ones.

The best gadget of 2026 might actually be AI assistants built into everyday devices. The interesting part is not just answering questions, but helping with small tasks without needing to open ten different apps.

Noise cancelling headphones deserve a mention. Being able to turn a noisy commute into a quiet space feels like a superpower. Not the most futuristic gadget, but one of the most useful.

A lot depends on what you actually do every day. A photographer will have a completely different answer from someone who travels, games, works from home, or just wants better entertainment.

My favourite gadget is probably a good e-reader. People always expect a phone or tablet answer, but having a device that does one thing extremely well is surprisingly refreshing ;D

Still waiting for the gadget that folds laundry for me. Technology can create amazing AI systems but apparently my socks remain undefeated :P

The funny thing about gadgets is that the tiny improvements often matter most. A faster charger or better battery life does not sound exciting, but those are the things you appreciate every single day.

A strong argument could be made for smart home devices. Lights, heating, security, and routines all working together can make a home feel much more convenient without needing constant attention.

The best gadget is probably the one you forget is there. When technology works smoothly in the background, that is usually a sign it has been designed well rather than just packed with features.
