Has anything genuinely surprised you so far this year? - any thoughts

Keeps coming up and I wanted to get some actual opinions.

Part of the reason I asked is because I would rather get a range of actual opinions.

I have seen conflicting advice elsewhere and wanted to get a more grounded take on it.

The practical reality is usually somewhere between the optimistic recommendation and the pessimistic warning.

Would be interested to hear what people here think

The biggest surprise for me has been how quickly everyday AI tools have gone from novelty to something people actually rely on.
