Does Anyone Actually Use the Forum on Mobile - Usability Thread

I do most of my reading here on mobile but some of the longer threads become genuinely hard to navigate on a small screen, particularly when there are lots of replies and the quoted text stacks up. The AI and Quantum boards especially.

Is this a me problem, a settings problem, or is the mobile experience something we should be raising with the mods? Curious what others are actually using and whether anyone has found a configuration that makes it more manageable.

Also: does anyone use the app wrapper versions or strictly browser?

Browser only on mobile for me. The app wrappers I have tried all had notification behaviour I did not want and were harder to manage than just bookmarking the forum.  Anyone installed the ProgressiveWebApp?

The long thread navigation is the main issue. On desktop you can jump around easily. On mobile you are scrolling through everything to find where you were

Increasing the text size in browser settings actually helped me more than anything else. Sounds counterintuitive but it forced the layout to behave more sensibly on my screen size

I read on mobile but post on desktop whenever possible. Fat-finger typos in long replies are embarrassing and spell check does not catch everything

The quoted text stacking problem is real. Threads that reply-to-reply-to-reply with full quotes every time become unreadable on a small screen. Worth raising as a forum setting question. Thankfully not much of it on here.

Safari on iPhone is my setup and it is fine for reading but the text input for long posts is genuinely frustrating. I have lost two replies to accidental navigation

Dark mode persistence issue is particularly noticeable on mobile. See the other thread in Feedback if you are having the same problem

I love the linear threads. I hate the mess of reddit with nested replies. Quoting is limited to where its needed.
