Browser extensions that test discount codes can be useful, but they are not magic. They may save time by trying common codes automatically, but users should still think about privacy, tracking, permissions, and whether the extension is changing affiliate links behind the scenes. They are convenient for everyday shopping, but they should not replace common sense or checking the retailer's own offers first

They are handy, but I always wonder how much data they collect while I shop
git commit -m "fixed everything"

I use them as a last quick check rather than trusting them to find the best possible deal
VAR can do one

The affiliate link thing annoys me a bit, but if it saves money I can see why people accept it

I would rather use a trusted cashback site first, then maybe test an extension before paying
