AEW Redemption wrapped up with a finish that flips the usual save the hero formula on its head, Omega retained the world title against Kevin Knight, then got jumped by the Death Riders afterward with Moxley setting up to Pillmanize his neck against a steel chair, which is about as vicious a post match beatdown as AEW does

Will Ospreay ran out to make the save and it looked like a clean babyface rescue at first, he shoved off Claudio, fought through the group, and even tore up a plastic bag Moxley handed him instead of using it to finish Omega off which read as a clear moral choice in the moment

Then the whole thing gets subverted, Ospreay hands Kenny the title back, they share a handshake, and out of nowhere Omega grabs him off the second rope and drops him with the One Winged Angel while the Young Bucks stand there completely confused about what they just watched

The read that makes the most sense to me is Omega genuinely believing in the moment that Ospreay was going to use that bag on him rather than tear it up, so the beatdown afterward reads less like a heel turn and more like a paranoid overreaction from a guy who just survived getting nearly suffocated by his own former allies

Whatever the actual motivation ends up being once they explain it on television, this sets up the All In main event about as hot as it could possibly be, Omega defending against Ospreay at Wembley next month now carries a real personal betrayal angle on top of the championship stakes, which is exactly what a stadium show main event needs
