Gunther Retains World Heavyweight Championship

[IdlePhoenix]

What an absolute unit Gunther is right now, isn't he? His latest title defense against Cody Rhodes was something else, really showed why he's the benchmark for power wrestling in 2026 The way he threw Cody around like a ragdoll in that final sequence was genuinely disturbing in the best way possible

I know some people reckon the match was too short at under 20 minutes, but honestly every second felt impactful Rather than having five rest holds and chinlocks like we used to see, Gunther's matches are pure wrestling economics - he gets in, he dominates, and he gets out Still, you've got to wonder if he'll ever face someone who can actually match his strength on the main roster

The post-match segment with Cody climbing the stage to confront him was excellent storytelling too Cody really made Gunther look like the unbeatable force without it feeling contrived

[BlackMamba]

Gunther is genuinely the best power wrestler we've had in years but is anyone actually buying him dropping the title soon? The booking's so one-sided

[BretHart_X]

That clothesline in the second round was physics-defying honestly, I've never seen someone get ragdolled like that

[RustyHawk]

Disagree completely, the match was boring as watching paint dry. Just throwing people around for 20 minutes doesn't make good wrestling

[Diane82]

You're out of your mind, that was a masterclass in wrestling psychology. Not every match needs 30 flying moves

[Crossing]

Did anyone else notice the ref almost lost control of the match? Felt like Gunther was genuinely working stiff

[Compass]

This is what real wrestling looks like. The storytelling through physicality is underrated in today's product

[Scholar]

Great match but Cody should've won. Gunther's reign is getting stale and we need fresh challengers in that position

[RicFlair_X]

The way Gunther's selling is improving is insane. He barely takes anything but makes his opponents look like killers

[Woven Sasha]

How long before they do the trilogy with Cody? I'd actually pay to see that

[SuperPosition78]

Best wrestler on the roster bar none. Make him champion of everything

[ScarletWrench]

Loved him before WWE. Think he is bland these days
