What is the most underrated best crime drama series in July '26?

There is something else going on in it I think. There is usually something in the structure that tells you more than the surface does.

For underrated crime dramas, my vote goes to The Night Of. It got plenty of praise when it came out, but I still think people forget how uncomfortable and detailed it was.

The way it shows the legal system slowly grinding people down is what stuck with me. It is not just about finding out who did what, it is about how everyone involved changes because of the process.

A lot of people mention the big names like The Wire or Breaking Bad, but there are loads of smaller shows that deserve more attention. Mare of Easttown is one that comes to mind because it feels like a crime story and a character study at the same time.

Kate Winslet carried that whole thing. The mystery works, but the family drama is what makes it memorable.

Going slightly older here, but Line of Duty still deserves a mention. The interrogation scenes alone made it worth watching.

Some parts became a bit more complicated than they needed to be later on, but those early seasons had incredible tension. You could feel the pressure in every conversation.

Not sure if it counts as underrated anymore, but Mindhunter deserves more love. The frustrating part is that it ended just when it felt like it was reaching another level.

The conversations with the criminals were more fascinating than most action scenes in other shows. It proved a crime drama does not need constant twists to keep you hooked.
