Summer watchlist thread: what is actually worth your evenings right now?

[Natalie61]

The half year point is when the watchlist gets audited. Streaming queues are full of things we added months ago and will never watch, so let us crowdsource properly, what have you actually finished lately and would push on someone else?

Format suggestion to keep it useful, name the show or film, one line on what it is without spoilers, and crucially who it is for, because the best recommendation is not the best thing you watched, it is the right thing matched to the right person

Rewatches count too, sometimes the correct answer to what should I watch is something from 2009 you already love. And confessions welcome, tell us the acclaimed thing you bounced off, the board could use the honesty as much as the praise

One request, spoiler tag anything plot related, some of us are perpetually two seasons behind everything and proud of it

[RayOfLight99]

Finished a slow burn detective thing last week that I will not name until I check how to spoiler tag, but the answer to who is it for is anyone who liked the first series of anything Scandinavian

[Forge45]

The who is it for rule should be law on this board. Best show I saw this year is one I would recommend to maybe three humans alive

[RustyHawk]

Confession as invited, I have started the acclaimed prestige drama everyone loves four times and fallen asleep four times. At some point that is data

[StringTheory97]

Four times is commitment though. Most people quit after two naps

[FadedKernel]

Rewatch corner, working through a 90s sitcom with my teenager and watching them discover the jokes land is better TV than anything new

[Mia86]

Anyone else find the World Cup has eaten their watchlist entirely? My queue has been frozen since mid June and I regret nothing

[Bob81]

Football IS the summer prestige drama, twists, villains, a different heartbreak nightly

[error.404]

Request for the board, something funny under 30 minutes an episode that does not require a plot memory. Life is chaotic, comedies should not be

[Compiled Wolf]

Half hour comedy recs are this board's most renewable resource, you will have nine suggestions by morning

[IronQuarry48]

The real question is who here actually finishes things. My completion rate is maybe 40 percent and I suspect that is above average

[Jarvis]

40 percent is elite. Most of us are curators of unwatched libraries and it is time we owned it

[Keira87]

Re watching stargate from the beginning.
