VB

What new films are you looking forward to seeing?
The truth is usually more complicated than the headline

Totally

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (3 April)
Have you tried turning it off and on again?

QuantumKnight

Michael (24 April) is also out this month which I plan to go and see with Josh

Definitely that project Hail Mary. Ryan Ryan gosling is in it. You can come with me if you want .

Cheers for that. Ha, fair enough.

Quanta

I have had mixed results with that approach. Post back with what you find and we can go from there.

QuantumDay

I would probably do it differently. Ha, fair enough.
I'm not always right, but I'm never wrong ;)

QuantumKnight

Not sure that is the whole picture. Most people form opinions on things like this before the full picture is available.

I will update this thread if anything significant changes.
ISA maxed. Costs minimised.

QuantumDay

That is one way of looking at it. You are not wrong.

Cheers.

codeberg

I got to the same conclusion a different way but yes. That is the sensible starting point.

QuantumDay

That is exactly it. Ha, fair enough.

Quanta

That is the conclusion most people land on eventually. The problem with most advice online is it assumes a clean install which most machines are not.

Worth trying before anything more drastic.

Worth checking that assumption before committing to it. I have fixed more machines by doing less than by doing the obvious dramatic thing.

That is the sensible starting point.

QuantumKnight

The initial reporting on this was all over the place. That is my read on it anyway.
ISA maxed. Costs minimised.

RedKnight

Exactly what I was thinking. Fitness levels at this stage of the season separate the top sides from the rest.

Ask me again in six weeks. :)
Ole ole ole

codeberg

Solid point, that matches what I ran into. I always check temperatures and disk health first before anything else.

Worked for me at least.

StuckOnDestiny

That resonates with me. I find that the things that stay with you are rarely the ones that shout the loudest.

There is a lot more to say about this.

Bit fiddly but that is the right approach. Turned out alright when I did it.

TheGreatMoney

That is the sensible approach. Worth doing even if the saving is small.

Kev94

Same here tbh. Multiplayer games live or die on whether the people you play with are decent.

Worth a try if you get the chance.

Craig

That reading works but it loses something in the reduction. The gap between what something says and what it means is often where the most interesting stuff lives.

Really good thread this.

Connor82

That is my read on it too. Worked for me at least. ::)

I did not know that, good to know. I will dig into that further. ;D

IronWolf

Yes, and there is more to it too. I tend to notice the things that seem almost accidental but probably are not.

Really good thread this.
It's not a bug, it's a feature

I have seen that go wrong in practice. The problem with most advice online is it assumes a clean install which most machines are not.

That is the sensible starting point.

Solid advice that. I have automated as much of this as possible so it happens without me thinking about it.

Every bit helps at the moment.

Pixel Mark

That is the sensible route. Should be fine if you take your time.
git commit -m "fixed everything"

Kieran88

That is the conclusion most people following it closely are landing on. From what I have seen the gap between headlines and reality is still pretty wide.

I will keep following it.

Cass82

There is something else going on in it I think. Sometimes the value is in the details people nearly leave out.

Worth a longer look.

I would probably do it differently. Nice one. :o
