Cape Fear is one of those titles with a lot of history behind it, so a new version is always going to divide people. The latest trailer is here: Cape Fear Official Trailer

Part of me likes the idea of stretching a psychological thriller into a series, because it gives more time for tension and character. Another part of me worries that some stories work better because they are tight and nasty and do not overstay their welcome.

Do you think classic thrillers should be brought back for modern television, or should they be left alone?
Somewhere between inspired and overwhelmed

I am open to it if they do something new with the material. A straight copy would be pointless
VAR can do one

Cape Fear is a tough one because the earlier versions already cast such a long shadow

A series could work if it is slow and tense rather than full of cheap shocks

I usually dislike remakes, but Javier Bardem in this sort of role is enough to make me curious

Some stories suit a film better. I hope they do not pad it out just because streaming wants episodes
