Limited series have become one of my favourite formats. There is something satisfying about knowing a story has a beginning, middle, and end before you even start watching.

Long running shows can be brilliant, but they often get stretched, softened, or twisted around ratings and renewals. A limited series has less room to waste time, at least in theory.

Do you prefer a complete one season story, or do you still enjoy settling into a show that might run for years?

Rogue Sam

Limited series are my preference now. I like knowing I am not signing up for six seasons

Red Builder

Long shows can build stronger characters, but only if the writing stays good

Isla

A limited series feels safer. You know there is probably an actual ending

Forge45

I still love a long running show when it becomes part of your routine

QubitZero

Too many so called limited series get renewed anyway if they are popular, which defeats the point
