Are solar panels actually worth it for the UK with rubbish sunlight?

This might be a basic question but I'm genuinely unsure.

Given how the weather is in the UK, are solar panels actually worth installing?

Do they generate enough energy to justify the cost?

Would be good to hear from people who already have them

They still work surprisingly well even in the UK.

You won't get the same output as sunnier countries, but you can still offset a decent amount of electricity.

The key is long term savings rather than quick returns

Not overheating is also a limitation to solar panels. So normal sunny days can be very productive

As far as repaying. Usually around 6 to 10 years depending on setup and usage.

Energy prices also make a big difference.
