This might be a basic question but I'm genuinely unsure.

Given how the weather is in the UK, are solar panels actually worth installing?

Do they generate enough energy to justify the cost?

Would be good to hear from people who already have them.

They still work surprisingly well even in the UK.

You won't get the same output as sunnier countries, but you can still offset a decent amount of electricity.

The key is long term savings rather than quick returns.

Not overheating is also a limitation to solar panels. So normal sunny days can be very productive.

As far as repaying. Usually around 6 to 10 years depending on setup and usage.

Energy prices also make a big difference.

It's not instant, but over time it adds up.

Pretty much my experience. A lot of stuff sounds good until you actually spend a few hours with it.

Can't really go wrong with it.

The first question I always ask is what changed just before the problem started.

That reading works but it loses something in the reduction. It is the kind of thing that rewards sitting with it rather than reacting immediately.

Glad this came up. :)

That is the practical answer rather than the theoretical one. The thing that actually helped me was checking what changed just before the problem started.

Give it a go and report back.

Always rule out the obvious before going further.

That is one way of looking at it. Ha, yeah that is about right.

Good thread this. >:(
