Pogacar solos to a fourth stage win at this year's Tour de France

[LegendaryRob93]

Tadej Pogacar dropped his rivals on the steep final ramps of the Col du Haag and rode solo to his fourth stage victory of this year's Tour de France, extending his overall lead heading into the race's final days. Isaac del Toro won the sprint for second place ahead of Paul Seixas and Jonas Vingegaard, with the overall standings among the top contenders remaining largely unchanged behind Pogacar. It was yet another dominant mountain performance from the defending champion this edition

With only a handful of stages left before the race concludes in Paris, Pogacar's grip on the yellow jersey looks increasingly secure barring a serious mishap in the closing days. Remco Evenepoel has been the other standout performer of this year's race, taking a strong time trial stage win of his own earlier in the week to keep the overall picture competitive further down the standings

This edition has been a showcase for Pogacar's climbing dominance in particular, with four stage wins putting him well clear of the chasing pack in a race that started all the way back in Barcelona. Barring disaster on the closing stages into Paris, this looks set to be another commanding overall victory for him

Four stage wins this deep into a Grand Tour is a dominant showing even by Pogacar's own standards

[DecentBloke]

Del Toro finishing that sprint for second on a mountain stage like that is impressive in its own right

[Lewis_43]

Evenepoel's time trial win keeps things interesting further down the overall standings even with Pogacar clearly in control up top

Barcelona to Paris is such a striking route for this edition, curious how the final Montmartre stage plays out

[Sequence87]

Pogacar just seems to be operating on a different physical level than everyone else in the mountains right now

[NadirDriver]

Wonder if Vingegaard has anything left in the tank for a late surge before Paris or if this race is essentially decided

[HeartbreakKidStinger64]

The final stage finishing in Montmartre after last year's crowds and viewership should be a great watch regardless of the GC situation

[Aaron]

This has felt like Pogacar's race since the mountains started, impressive to watch even as a neutral fan

[Context Terry]

Four wins with days still to go makes we wonder just how big his final margin ends up being over Evenepoel

Watching this version of Pogacar feels like seeing someone play a different sport. The acceleration on those final ramps is incredible because those are the moments where everyone is supposed to be suffering together, not watching one rider disappear up the road.

The battle for second place might become the more interesting contest if this continues. It is a little like Formula 1 when one driver is ahead and everyone else is fighting for the podium spots

The scary thing for the rest of the peloton is that they cannot even say he only wins with one tactic. Sometimes he attacks from far out, sometimes he waits for the steepest section, and he keeps finding different ways to separate himself.

Still, the Tour is a long race and one bad day can change everything. The mountains might belong to Pogacar right now, but cycling has produced plenty of dramatic turnarounds before.

Great to see del Toro consistently mixing it up for stage podiums even without threatening the overall lead

[Ellie_28]

Pogacar is making these mountain stages look almost unfair. The impressive part is not just the final attack, but how controlled he looks before launching it. Other riders are already at the limit and he still seems to have another gear waiting. It reminds me of the dominant eras of riders like Merckx where the question became who could limit the damage rather than who could win
