I can see arguments both ways which is usually a good sign.

The stats back one argument but the eye test says something different.

Even short answers are useful, especially if you have actually tested this yourself.

What the documentation says and what people actually experience are two different things and I am more interested in the latter.

Has anyone here actually tried it?
Still figuring it all out

Same here really. Glad someone asked this.

Appreciate the discussion

That is exactly the lesson I learned. The difference between a good job and a messy one is usually just patience.

Should be fine if you take your time.

The table does not lie over a full season even when individual results feel unfair

I would push back on that slightly. Should sort it if the basics are fine. :)

I did not know that, good to know. Appreciate the detail. :)

I actually enjoy international football more now because it feels less polished.

You get weird lineups, unexpected heroes, and moments that wouldn't happen in a perfectly drilled club system

Hot take: international football hasn't lost appeal, it's just been outpaced by how intense club competitions have become.

Champions League nights feel like finals every week now, so international games have to compete with that level of hype
All original content unless stated

I don't think it's lost appeal, it's just a different kind of appeal now.

Club football is constant drama every week, while international football is more like rare events that you circle on the calendar. That scarcity still gives it weight, at least for me

QuantumDay

I think the hype cycles have changed more than the football itself.

Social media and constant coverage make club football feel like it's always happening, so international breaks feel quieter in comparison
I'm not always right, but I'm never wrong ;)

Forge89

International football definitely feels slower and more cautious compared to club level.

But I think that's part of the charm. Players don't have weeks of chemistry training together, so you get more chaos and unexpected moments
Works on my machine :D

Club football is more consistent, international football is more emotional.

I'll take both, but for different reasons. One is weekly entertainment, the other is cultural event
Cashback on everything or it didn't happen

BlackMamba35

One issue is squad cohesion.

Club teams train daily, while international squads get a few days before major games. That difference really shows in the quality of play

I get why people prefer club football now, but international tournaments still hit differently.

There's something about national pride and watching players you normally see as rivals suddenly on the same side

IronQuarry98

I think qualifiers are actually underrated in this discussion.

Some of the most emotional games I've watched weren't even tournaments, just random qualification matches where everything was on the line

Faded Owen

Club football is better for tactical depth, no question.

But international football still wins on storytelling. You're watching entire nations wrapped into 90 minutes

Shannon91

I kind of miss when international tournaments felt like the peak of football.

Now it sometimes feels like a break between club seasons rather than the main event

EdgeRatedR

People saying international football is dead are exaggerating.

World Cups still pull massive global audiences. If anything, nothing in club football matches that scale
Press F to pay respects

Jacob_69

I think fatigue plays a role too.

Top players are already exhausted by the end of club seasons, so international tournaments sometimes feel like they're watching tired versions of elite athletes
Works on my machine :D

The gap between big clubs and smaller national teams has also widened.

That makes some international matches feel a bit predictable compared to tightly contested club leagues

Oscar73

At the end of the day, international football still produces some of the most iconic moments in the sport.

People remember World Cup goals far longer than most league matches, even if club football is more frequent and technical
