This is the one. Bolton Wanderers versus Stockport County at Wembley, Sunday 24 May, 1pm kickoff. The winner goes to the Championship. An all-Greater Manchester affair, two points separating these teams in the final League One table, with 36,241 Bolton fans in the West End of Wembley and Stockport in full voice at the other end.

Bolton beat Bradford City 2-0 on aggregate in the semi, with Xavier Simons scoring the winner that booked Wembley. Stockport beat Stevenage. Bolton manager Steven Schumacher has them organised and confident. These two drew 2-2 on Easter Monday and have been neck and neck all season.

For any Bolton fan reading this: we belong in the Championship. This is our moment. Let us not be talking about this one for the wrong reasons in August

Bolton fan here, been following them through the dark years of administration and League Two. This club deserves this day and I cannot wait for Sunday

Pilgrim

The Schumacher appointment was inspired. He has given Bolton a clear identity and the players look like they genuinely believe in what they are doing

Stockport have had a remarkable rise. League Two not long ago and now one game from the Championship. Credit where it is due even if I want Bolton to win

Xavier Simons scoring the winner against Bradford to send Bolton to Wembley after coming off the bench was the moment of the season for this club

KeyboardWarrior47

The 2-2 on Easter Monday between these two was a brilliant game. Both teams can score and neither is defensive. Sunday could be a proper match
Somewhere between inspired and overwhelmed

Bolton in the Championship next season. I am allowing myself to say it. For the first time in years it is genuinely possible and not a fantasy
Cashback on everything or it didn't happen

Hitman04

Stockport fans equally deserve their day. They have supported a club that was in serious trouble not long ago and now they are one game from the second tier

The all-Greater Manchester final is a fantastic story for football in the north west. Two proper clubs with proper support bases going at it at the national stadium

The atmosphere at Wembley for a game like this with 70,000 mostly northern fans is going to be incredible. This is what the playoff final is about

Ava_75

Whoever wins this deserves to be in the Championship. Whoever loses will be back. The gap between these clubs and the rest of League One was clear all season
