Antonelli wins Monaco for his fifth straight F1 victory - Leclerc retires at home again

Kimi Antonelli won the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix from pole position, his fifth consecutive victory and sixth win in six races. He now leads the Drivers Championship by 66 points from Lewis Hamilton who finished second in the Ferrari. Isack Hadjar completed the podium in the Red Bull after post-race penalties were applied to others.

The race was chaotic. Max Verstappen failed to get away cleanly from second on the grid and caused immediate disruption. A red flag on lap 68 of 78 was triggered after the track surface broke up at the final corner - Lance Stroll crashed first, then Charles Leclerc crashed at the same corner during the safety car restart. Hamilton in the other Ferrari took advantage to move to second in the championship, 66 points behind Antonelli. George Russell finished 13th after a costly penalty.
