Here's a writing prompt for the short story community. The brief is open and the interpretation is entirely yours.

The Prompt: Write a short story about the last person who trusted a machine.

Could be literal. Could be metaphorical. Could be science fiction, could be set today, could be historical. The machine could be anything from a quantum computer to a washing machine. The trust could be simple or catastrophic. The last person could mean the final human alive or simply the final holdout in a world that learned better.

Aim for 300 to 800 words. Post your story in the replies. Feedback welcome and encouraged. No rules beyond the prompt.
