This came out in one go, which is unusual for me.

You liked the window seat on trains.
You always had a book you were not reading.
You said the same three things in airport queues.
I would give a lot for that repeating.

Grief is mostly this, I think:
the small things you would give the large things for.
Not the dramatic moments.
Just the ordinary more

The specificity in this is what makes it land. "Window seat on trains", "book you were not reading". These aren't generic grief markers. They're actual details from an actual person. That's where the power comes from. The ordinary things become sacred when someone's gone. 8)
