Kicking off a genuine reading challenge here, twelve books over the next twelve weeks, roughly a book a week, though the actual pace is flexible as long as you hit twelve by the end. Pick your own list entirely, this isn't about everyone reading the same thing, it's about building an actual consistent reading habit together.

Post your planned list, or just your first pick if you'd rather choose as you go. And then check in here weekly with how it's actually going, what you finished, what you're currently reading, and honestly any thoughts on whether the pace is realistic for your own actual life.

No genre restrictions at all, fiction. Nonfiction, genuinely whatever gets you actually reading consistently counts, the whole entire point here is building a sustainable habit rather than impressing anyone with a particular reading list.

If twelve in twelve weeks feels genuinely too ambitious once you actually get going. Adjust your own personal target rather than dropping out entirely, six finished books is still six more than zero and still counts as a real win.

Weekly check ins keep this feeling like an actual shared challenge rather than just a private personal goal. So even a quick one line update on your own current progress genuinely helps keep the momentum going for everyone else following along too
Just here for the craic :)

Joining this, my reading has dropped off a cliff the past couple years and I need real structure to actually fix that. Worth remembering

Tagging along as a spectator, and cheering everyone on. Might join properly next week once I actually finish the book I'm currently partway through already

No genre restrictions is the right call. Forcing everyone into the same specific list would kill this fast, personal choice is what keeps something like this actually sustainable

Twelve in twelve weeks feels clearly ambitious for me personally with my current schedule.

Going to aim for eight and adjust upward if I end up ahead of pace

The weekly check in structure is the part that will actually make or break this for me. Private goals are so much easier to quietly abandon than public ones

Kept meaning to try real reason to finally read some of the books that have sat on my shelf untouched for literally years now. This is perfect timing. Worth remembering

Dropping my first pick now, starting with something really short specifically to build early momentum before tackling anything longer later.

Solid observation

Curious, do audiobooks count the same as physical or ebook reading.

Or is there any actual distinction being made here between formats?

Bleak Inlet

Does this include any kind of final wrap up thread at the end where everyone shares what they actually finished.

Or does this just quietly end after week twelve?

The adjust your target rather than drop out advice is exactly right.

Seen too many reading challenges fail entirely the moment someone falls behind instead of just recalibrating and continuing on at their own pace
