Microsoft Build 2026 is running June 2-4 at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco. Satya Nadella opened the keynote declaring that agents are the new operating system for work. Key announcements include Office 365 Copilot Agent Mode with persistent AI agents inside Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook, Windows Agent Framework, Azure Agent Mesh, Copilot Runtime for Windows with local inference APIs, and AgentGuard governance tools for enterprise control.
