For me it has to be "Mr. Blue Sky" by Electric Light Orchestra. Even if the day has gone completely sideways, those opening seconds somehow reset the mood. Jeff Lynne basically bottled sunshine and turned it into a song.

A close second would be "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves, although that one feels almost unfair because it is practically impossible not to smile when it starts.

"September" by Earth, Wind & Fire is my automatic mood fixer. The rhythm is just ridiculous in the best way, and you can hear it in a shop, a car, or a party and everyone suddenly becomes slightly happier.

There is a reason it has survived for decades. Some songs are just built with happiness in them.

Great question. Mine would probably be "Here Comes The Sun" by The Beatles.

It is not even an energetic song, but there is something about George Harrison's guitar and the feeling of relief in the lyrics that works every time. Perfect for those mornings where everything feels a bit heavy.

Going slightly different with "Dancing Queen" by ABBA. There is no situation where that song does not make a room feel like it is about to become a terrible but brilliant karaoke night.

People joke about it, but ABBA's songwriting was seriously clever. Those melodies are basically impossible to escape.

Freddie Mercury sounds like he is having the time of his life, and that energy is contagious. Even a boring commute feels a bit more dramatic when that chorus arrives.

Probably explains why it has appeared on so many workout playlists too.
