I was pricing out some of the new AI focused creator laptops and the numbers are getting ridiculous. At this point some of these systems cost more than a decent used car. The marketing pushes local AI acceleration, video generation and huge VRAM pools, but I still wonder how future proof any of it really is. Reading Practical MLOps and Machine Learning Engineering made me think more seriously about portable AI workflows, while Generative AI with Python and PyTorch and AI Engineering pushed me toward experimenting locally. I just cannot decide whether premium AI laptops are actually useful or just expensive flex machines

Thermals are still the biggest issue. Desktop workstations destroy laptops once you push sustained AI workloads

Portable AI rigs make sense if you travel constantly or work between offices

A lot of people buying these systems are really paying for the GPU and display quality more than the AI features

I think the market is moving too fast to spend huge money on laptops right now. Waiting another generation seems smarter

I would love one that just keeps charged for the whole day. battery life + light
Still figuring it all out
