Different from the hobbies you have always had. Something new in the last 12 months or so that has actually stuck, that you find yourself returning to, that you have spent real time and possibly real money on. The hobby that surprised you by becoming a habit.

I ask because I think the process of acquiring a new hobby as an adult is underrated as a topic and the things that stick tend to be interesting to understand. There is a difference between the things you try and abandon and the things that quietly become part of how you spend your time.

Bread baking. Started during a quiet period at work last autumn and now I make a loaf every weekend. The tactile, patient nature of it is completely different from everything else I do and I find that genuinely restorative.

Landscape sketching with pencil. I have tried drawing before and it never took. Something about sketching outdoors in particular, doing it quickly and imperfectly, made it click in a way indoor drawing exercises never had.
