Horror seems to be in a strong place lately. Even smaller releases can get people talking if the concept is sharp and the atmosphere works. Superhero films, meanwhile, feel like they have to fight much harder for excitement than they used to.

Maybe horror has an advantage because it does not always need huge budgets or connected universes. A simple idea, a tense room, and a good performance can be enough.

Do you think horror is currently more interesting than superhero films?

Yes, horror feels more creative at the moment. Superhero films feel weighed down by continuity

I still enjoy superhero films, but they need to feel special again rather than automatic
It's only banter... mostly

Horror can take more risks because the budgets are often smaller

A great superhero film can still be brilliant, but there have been too many average ones

Horror also works better with unknown actors, which makes it easier to believe

I would probably do it differently. Yeah I get that.

What worked for someone two years ago may not be the right answer now, which is why recent experience matters.
