I'm looking to put together a gaming PC around £1200 but with one main goal, keep it as quiet as possible. Not completely silent, but no jet engine noise under load.

The idea is solid 1080p and some 1440p gaming, nothing extreme, but with good airflow and low noise parts.

For storage I'm thinking something reliable and fast without overspending:
Samsung 980 PRO 1TB NVMe SSD

RAM doesn't need to be fancy, just stable and decent capacity:
Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 16GB Kit

Cooling is probably the biggest factor. A decent air cooler seems better for noise than cheaper AIOs:
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Halo CPU Cooler

And a good airflow focused case:
Corsair 4000D Airflow Case

I'm thinking low noise fans, efficient CPU, and not pushing the GPU too hard.

What would you change to keep noise down without killing performance?

Go for bigger fans and lower RPM, makes a big difference
Not financial advice. Not medical advice. Just vibes.

I bought a 12" 3000rpm fan and it sounded like a jet engine

Avoid cheap cases, airflow and noise are linked
I read every reply. Even the bad ones.

GPU choice matters more than people think for noise

Aaron

Not sure I am fully with you on that one. Cheers

I love the way you put that. I like threads like this because people come at the same thing from different angles.

Really good thread this
It's not a bug, it's a feature

Solid advice that. Most people just accept the standard rate and wonder why they are not getting ahead.

Cheers for sharing that

The terms and conditions usually tell a different story. Not a life changer but it adds up. :)

I found the same thing. I would only bother if the saving is real and not just headline nonsense.

Exactly what I found. Still playing it tbh
