Community history matters and I do not think we have done this thread for a while. How did you find qday.forum? What brought you here? What made you stay rather than leaving after the first few posts?

Not asking for anyone to be more revealing than they are comfortable with. Just curious about the paths people took.

A link someone posted on a completely unrelated platform in a thread about something else entirely. I followed it without much expectation and found the quantum discussion board, which at the time had a thread I could not stop reading.

Recommended by someone I know in real life who did not tell me they were also here until I had been posting for about three months. That reveal was a strange feeling.
Works on my machine :D

Honestly cannot remember. Searched for something, found a thread, read the whole thing, made an account. The specifics have faded but the moment of recognising this was somewhere I wanted to be has not.

I found the poetry board through a search for something completely different. Stayed because the poems were actual poems rather than the kind of thing that accumulates in most forum poetry sections.
Here more than I should be

During a quiet period at work I needed somewhere to put thoughts that were too long for social media and too informal for anywhere else. This was that place.

The quantum board. A specific technical discussion I found through a search that turned out to be genuinely good. I lurked for about six months before posting.

A friend who has since left the internet almost entirely pointed me here about three years ago. He had very good instincts about online spaces.
