Prime Day tech deals are basically wrapped up, here is what was actually worth buying

[Isaac80]

Amazon Prime Day 2026 has wrapped, and NBC's roundup of what actually held up under scrutiny includes 54 percent off Sony headphones, 30 percent off the Apple Watch Series 11, 50 percent off Fire TV Sticks, and 72 percent off Blink doorbell cameras

The reporting method matters here, deals were only included if they were at least 20 percent off and sitting at their lowest price in at least three months, verified through price trackers like CamelCamelCamel rather than just trusting Amazon's own discount labelling

TVs were a particular highlight this year, with OLED prices dropping close to Black Friday level pricing on some models, which is unusually aggressive for a mid year sales event rather than the traditional November shopping season

Even with Prime Day officially over, TechRadar noted that a wave of restocked fans and air conditioners were still showing discounted prices days later, likely tied to the ongoing UK and broader European heatwave driving demand

For anyone who missed the window entirely, Best Buy's rival sale event was reported to still be running with comparable discounts on OLED TVs, AirPods, and budget laptops, so the deal window has effectively been extended by a few days through competitor pricing

I test tech all year - these are the Prime Day deals I'd actually buy right nowwww.nbcnews.com

72 percent off the Blink doorbell camera is an excellent deal, I have been eyeing one of those for months and finally pulled the trigger

[NatureBoy_Dev]

Good on NBC for actually verifying the lowest price in three months claim through CamelCamelCamel, half these deal roundups just trust Amazon's own inflated original price

[Sienna74]

OLED TVs dropping to near Black Friday pricing mid year is a new one, feels like these sales events keep creeping earlier and getting more aggressive every cycle

[John70]

Missed Prime Day entirely this year and honestly relieved Best Buy's rival sale picked up the slack, saved me from feeling like I missed the boat

[CollapseState]

The Apple Watch Series 11 at 30 percent off is tempting but I always wonder if waiting for the actual September refresh cycle would be smarter

[EdgeLord]

Restocked fans and air con units staying discounted because of the heatwave is a nice bit of coincidental timing for anyone who needs cooling gear right now

[VoidRanger40]

I have learned to completely ignore Prime Day hype until independent verified roundups like this come out a few days later, way less noise to wade through

[Policy Cipher]

Fire TV Sticks at half price is basically an impulse buy at this point, that device pays for itself within a month of use for most households

[Midnight Aoife]

Kind of wild how many separate sales events now exist throughout the year, Prime Day used to be the one big thing and now there is a rival event immediately after it too

[QuantumLeap96]

The Sony headphones at 54% off were the standout deal this year. That's a genuine price drop, not the usual "was $399, now $379" nonsense. If you were in the market for those, it was a no-brainer.

[DeanAmbrose11]

The 30% off tablets was solid too, but only on specific models. Amazon's own Fire tablets hit rock-bottom prices, but the Samsung and iPad discounts were more modest. Still worth it if you needed one.

[Skibidi98]

Waiting for the post-Prime Day roundups is the smart move. The hype during the event itself is exhausting, and half the "deals" are just regular prices with extra marketing. Patience pays off.

[Griffin55]

The laptop deals were underwhelming this year. A few decent discounts on older models, but nothing that screamed "buy now." If you're not in a rush, Black Friday will probably be better.

[Matthew97]

The lesson every year is the same: ignore the countdown timers and "lightning deal" pressure. Wait for the roundups, compare prices, and buy what's actually discounted. Everything else is just noise.

[Piston]

Smart home devices were all over the place. Some Echo deals were legit, others were just regular sale prices with a "Prime Day" sticker slapped on. The Ring doorbell discounts were the real winners there.

[ShadowPilot]

Storage deals were surprisingly good. SSDs and external drives saw some of the steepest discounts of the event. If you've been meaning to upgrade your setup, that was the place to spend.

[ShawnMichaels07]

The wearables category was a mixed bag. Fitbit and Garmin had some solid offers, but the Apple Watch discounts were minimal. Again, knowing what you wanted beforehand made all the difference.

[GhostRider14]

The TV deals were hit or miss. Some LG and Samsung models had genuine price cuts, but others were just bundle deals that didn't save much. The key was knowing exactly what you wanted before the event started.
