Epic's weekly free games programme has been running for years now and the library of claimed games for regular users is enormous. Curious what people have actually played from their Epic free games backlog versus what they claimed and never touched. Also worth sharing any currently running deals across Steam, GOG, Humble Bundle and other platforms that are genuinely worth the money this week

Control was the Epic freebie that actually changed how I think about that programme. Claimed it with no expectations, played it for 30 hours, ended up buying all the DLC. That is the model working exactly as intended from Epic's perspective

GOG has been doing deep discounts on older classic games and the DRM-free model genuinely matters for long-term ownership. A 1.99 GOG copy of something from 2005 is more future-proof than a Steam copy at full price
Cashback on everything or it didn't happen

Humble Choice this month has a couple of decent indie games worth checking if you are subscribed. The bundle model is better value than the subscription for most people unless you are very consistent about playing everything

The honest answer is I have claimed several hundred free Epic games and played about twelve. The claim-it-and-forget psychology is very real. But that twelve includes some genuinely excellent games I would never have bought at full price
It's only banter... mostly

Steam Summer Sale starts this month based on the historical pattern - usually late June. The rule that applies every year: add things to your wishlist now and only buy if they hit your price threshold. Do not panic buy at 50% off if you know it will be 75% off in six months

Prime Gaming free games continue to be genuinely overlooked. The Amazon subscription most people already have for delivery gives monthly free PC games and people do not claim them. Worth checking the Prime Gaming page before any of the paid storefronts
