Why does my camera battery drain so fast during shoots?

I feel like my camera battery dies way faster than expected especially when shooting for longer sessions. Is this normal or should I be doing something differently?

Completely normal especially with screens and video. I always carry spares like Wasabi Power Camera Battery Pack.

Extra batteries are essential. I stopped worrying about it once I had backups ready.

Cold weather and video recording drain batteries faster so that might be part of it.

I keep at least two spare batteries and a charger with me now and it solved the issue.
