Would you buy a dedicated AI appliance for your home instead of using cloud services?

A dedicated AI appliance for the home sounds appealing if it handles voice, search, smart home control and private automation without constantly sending data to cloud services. The challenge is trust. If it is too locked down, it becomes another subscription box. If it is too open, normal users may find it too difficult to maintain. The product category feels inevitable, but I am not convinced anyone has nailed it yet

The problem is support. Home users do not want to manage models, updates and storage errors

This will probably work when it is boring. A little black box that just answers and automates things

I do not want another smart speaker with extra marketing. It has to be genuinely local
