Given how fast AI capability keeps moving, I'm curious what people actually think happens first within their own specific industry, not the abstract national jobs debate everyone argues about online, but the concrete task or role in your own workplace that you personally expect to get automated away soonest

In my own field the obvious early target is anything involving repetitive first draft work, initial research summaries, routine data entry, first pass code review comments, the kind of task that's genuinely valuable but doesn't require deep judgment calls or accountability for the final outcome

What I think a lot of people get wrong in this conversation is assuming entire jobs disappear cleanly all at once, in practice it looks more like specific tasks within a role quietly get automated first while the job title itself survives for years afterward with a smaller and more specialized scope than it used to have

The roles that feel safest to me for now are the ones requiring real accountability for a final decision, someone still has to be legally or professionally responsible when something goes wrong, and companies seem hesitant to hand that specific kind of ultimate responsibility to a system even when the system's actual output is arguably already good enough on a technical level

Curious how this actually plays out differently across industries people work in here, seems like some fields are already seeing real concrete task level automation happening right now while others are still mostly talking about it as a distant future possibility rather than something currently reshaping day to day work
