AI features have been added to almost everything over the past couple of years. Search engines, phones, email, office software, photo apps, cars and even fridges have some form of AI built in. Some of these are useful, but plenty feel like they were added because every company needed an AI story. And many cannot be switched off easily

So if you had a magic button that turned off one AI feature forever, which would you pick? AI summaries at the top of search results are an obvious candidate for many people. Others might choose the assistant that pops up in their word processor, auto generated email replies or AI chatbots on customer service lines. Some phones now rewrite your photos automatically, which is another contender

I am particularly interested in features that get in the way of doing simple things. A tool that tries to guess what you want and gets it wrong half the time can be more frustrating than no help at all. Being forced to use something is very different from choosing to use it

To be fair, I would also like to hear about AI features you would never give up. Perhaps live translation, photo search or spam filtering have become essential for you. The contrast between loved and hated features might be revealing

Which feature goes in the bin, and which ones would you keep?

The assistant that pops up in my word processor every time I open a document. I know it is there. I do not need reminding. Turning it off took four menus
