Smart TVs keep improving, but dedicated streaming boxes still have a place when the built in apps become slow or unsupported. Devices like NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV Pro Streaming Media Player are interesting because they add AI upscaling, better app performance and more flexibility than many televisions offer. The question is whether that is worth paying extra for when most people already have apps built into the screen
