Trey Miguel wins TNA ladder match for a world title shot against Leon Slater

[Canopy53]

Trey Miguel has earned a TNA World Championship match against Leon Slater after winning a ladder match on Thursday's TNA iMPACT. Wrestling Inc reports that the show was booked by the Hardys to mark their 35th anniversary in wrestling. We discussed Slater becoming the youngest world champion in company history at Bound for Glory, so his first challenger is now set

The ladder match featured Miguel, Moose, Ricky Sosa, Elijah and International Champion Jason Hotch, with a contract for a title shot hanging above the ring. Mustafa Ali cost Hotch his chance, and the two brawled up the ramp, continuing their rivalry

Then came the twist. Nic Nemeth, who lost the title to Slater, ran in to grab the contract for himself, which cost Elijah at the moment he was holding it. Miguel pulled Nemeth off the ladder, threw him out of the ring and climbed up to take the contract

Fightful separately reports that Slater against Miguel is now official for Destination X on 15 November in Edmonton. Both are exciting high flyers, so that match has the potential to be something special

Miguel has been one of TNA's most consistent performers for years, and this is a well deserved opportunity. Nemeth's involvement also suggests he is not done chasing the title. TNA is building plenty of momentum heading into Destination X

Can Trey Miguel take the title from Leon Slater? And should Nemeth get his rematch soon?
