TNA is bringing back Lockdown, its all cage pay-per-view, for the first time in a decade

TNA Wrestling is reviving Lockdown, the event where literally every single match on the card takes place inside a steel cage, on Sunday, August 23 at Chicago's Credit Union 1 Arena, marking the promotion's first Lockdown since 2016 and its first ever show at that specific venue, formerly known as the UIC Pavilion. TNA first introduced the concept back in 2005 with an AJ Styles versus Abyss match, and it quickly grew into one of the company's three flagship annual events alongside Slammiversary and Bound for Glory before quietly disappearing after its 2016 edition at London's Wembley Arena, where Matt Hardy beat EC3 for the TNA World Championship

The headline attraction returning alongside the full cage gimmick is Lethal Lockdown, TNA's own signature spin on the WarGames concept, where two teams enter a single ring enclosed by steel one wrestler at a time in alternating fashion, weapons included and even provided, with a weapon laden roof lowered onto the cage once every competitor has entered. It's been TNA's most memorable and most brutal match type for two decades, producing legendary encounters like Samoa Joe versus Kurt Angle and Sting versus Mick Foley over the concept's original run

This 2026 edition will also be the first Lockdown ever to feature wrestlers from WWE's NXT brand, a direct result of the ongoing working relationship between TNA and WWE that's grown over the past couple of years.
