SummerSlam 2026 full card preview, here's everything locked in for the two-night Minneapolis show

[Scholar95]

WWE's SummerSlam returns for a second consecutive year as a two-night event, taking place August 1 and 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, with reports suggesting the final card will land somewhere between 12 and 13 matches split across both nights, similar in scale to last year's show. As of this week nine matches were officially locked in, with WrestleVotes on Fightful Select reporting that up to four more are still being finalized in the days leading up to the event

The two marquee title matches anchor the card, CM Punk defends the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes after their tag team partnership fell apart into a personal rivalry following Punk's title win over Sami Zayn earlier this month, and Roman Reigns defends the World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins, a rivalry with real history given the two were Shield brothers together over a decade ago. Brock Lesnar faces Oba Femi in a Hell in a Cell match settling a score after the pair traded wins at WrestleMania 42 and Clash in Italy, and Liv Morgan defends the Women's World Championship against IYO SKY

The women's division gets a historic addition too, a five way ladder match crowning WWE's first ever main roster interim champion after Rhea Ripley's meniscus tear ruled her out, featuring Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill, Charlotte Flair, Chelsea Green and either Giulia or Lash Legend depending on how qualifying plays out. The United States Championship picture remains a genuine three way race between champion Trick Williams, Carmelo Hayes and a returning Baron Corbin after an inconclusive finish on SmackDown left the story open, and a six woman tag match between Nikki Bella, Brie Bella and Paige against Fatal Influence rounds out another confirmed addition, coming together quickly after Brie Bella beat Lainey Reid in singles action

Beyond the in ring card, SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis is reportedly returning to the ring for the first time in three years as part of a separate ongoing angle with Gunther, and Penta successfully defended the Intercontinental Championship picture by teaming with his SummerSlam opponent Chad Gable against Rusev and Ethan Page on go home programming. With Punk versus Rhodes, Reigns versus Rollins and Lesnar versus Femi in Hell in a Cell all headlining a stacked two night show, this is shaping up to be one of the more loaded SummerSlam cards in recent years even before the final few matches get confirmed

Punk vs Rhodes still feels like the match with the most genuine heat behind it, that rivalry turning personal this fast after they were tag partners just weeks ago has been some of the best storytelling WWE has done all year

[Glassy Crow]

Reigns vs Rollins carrying that old Shield history into a World Heavyweight Championship match is exactly the kind of long simmering payoff WWE does well when they actually commit to it

[Andy81]

The interim Women's Championship ladder match is going to be pure chaos in the best way, five people who all have a real case for winning makes this one hard to predict

[Dave_37]

Lesnar vs Femi in Hell in a Cell feels like a statement moment for Femi specifically, getting that kind of stipulation match against Lesnar is a real vote of confidence from the company

[Sorted Echo]

The US title picture staying a clear three way rather than WWE picking a clear favorite going in makes that match a lot more interesting than a standard title defense

[HitmanMarcus94]

Nick Aldis returning to the ring after three years away is a fun surprise addition, curious how that actually gets worked into the rest of the card given how it developed

[Sasha74]

12 to 13 matches across two nights is a real commitment of a show, hope the pacing holds up better than some of these longer two night cards have in past years

[Red Builder]

Minneapolis hosting a two night SummerSlam for a second year running suggests WWE is happy with how that format has performed, curious if this becomes the permanent structure going forward

[Wolfhound44]

This card is stacked enough that even the matches not yet officially confirmed feel like they'll add real value rather than just padding out the runtime

The Bella twins and Paige teaming up against Fatal Influence is a nice bit of nostalgia mixed with useful young talent getting a spotlight moment on a big stage
