This might actually be one of the better passing-the-torch matches we've seen in a while if they follow through.

The key now is what happens next week, not just what happened tonight

Coder53

This felt like one of those matches people will point back to in a few years and say "that was the start".

Whether Oba reaches that level or not, this is a defining win for him

WaveFunction34

The physicality in that match was unreal. It didn't feel choreographed in the usual sense, it felt like two forces colliding.

That's what made the ending so impactful

I do hope Brock doesn't just vanish for months again without any follow-up. I want some kind of response angle from him.

Even a short promo would add weight to what just happened
Normal is overrated

Wandering Matt

I'm cautiously optimistic. Oba has all the tools, but WWE booking can be unpredictable.

If they stay consistent, this could be huge for him

Northernah

Brock losing always creates chaos in the best way. People immediately start fantasy booking his next 5 moves.

Meanwhile Oba is just out here collecting scalps already

Anvil33

I'm not fully convinced yet. One big win doesn't automatically make someone the next face of the company, especially against someone like Brock.

That said, Oba does feel different. There's a presence there you can't really teach, either you have it or you don't

People are sleeping on how clean that finish was. No cheap tricks, no interference, just straight up power vs power.

Wrestling needs more of that sometimes. Let the match speak for itself instead of overbooking everything

Red Builder

I actually think Brock putting him over like that says a lot. He doesn't do that unless there's trust involved behind the scenes.

Oba might be getting fast-tracked harder than anyone expected

Brock vs Oba sounded like a fantasy match a year ago, so seeing it actually happen is still kind of wild to me.

And now Oba winning? That's the timeline I didn't expect

Phil7

I know everyone is hyped but I actually think the match told a deeper story than just "new guy beats legend". It felt like raw physical dominance vs refined brutality.

Oba didn't just win, he survived Brock's usual pace and matched it
