Lurker since the beginning

OBA WINS thats good for business

GameChanger

Didn't see that coming. I would love to see them repeat

TheGreatMoney

But that won't happen if Brock is retiring

TommyB_20

Is he really though? Until he comes and smashes Obas face in at Summerslam?

DQ Eric

The terms and conditions usually tell a different story. Worth doing even if the saving is small. :P

People are always quick to write someone off after one bad performance. We will see how it plays out

Agree, and the implications are bigger than most people realise. I will update this thread if anything significant changes. ;)

RedKnight

QuoteBut that won't happen if Brock is retiring.

That is recency bias talking if I am honest. Cannot wait for the game to settle it
Red Devils for life.

QuoteBut that won't happen if Brock is retiring.

I am not having that. The result will answer the question better than any of us can.

Form matters but the head to head record at this level matters just as much. :o

Kev5

Not sure that is universally true. Might go back to it. :'(

Marcus

QuoteIs he really though? Until he comes and smashes Obas face in at Summerslam?

Really like that take on it. Really good thread this.

The difference between the top sides at this level is smaller than the league table makes it look
RTFM and then ask

David74

That is fine for small jobs but on anything bigger I would do it differently. Post a photo when it is done. :D

veritas.io

Yeah that is the sensible route. Post back with what you find and we can go from there

BiscuitTin

That is the practical answer rather than the theoretical one. Worth ruling out the simple stuff before going further.

Start there and see if it makes a difference

HeartbreakKidStinger64

Exactly what I found. Can't really go wrong with it. :-\

MrRicardo

Not sure that is the whole picture. I find the best analysis usually comes a week or two after the initial coverage settles down.

Worth keeping an eye on. :D

veritas.io

Makes sense. That is just how it is.

People tend to recommend what they bought to justify spending the money, which is worth keeping in mind.

Cheers for sharing

That is pretty much it. Always the way.

Most guides are written by people who did it once under ideal conditions. Real experience is messier than that.

Good stuff
It's not a bug, it's a feature

StringTheory97

I would probably do it differently. Good stuff

Brock doing the job clean at Wrestlemania level is always going to be a headline moment no matter who it's against.

But Oba being the one to get that win makes it feel fresh again

Marcus95

I loved it but I'm also slightly worried it's too early. WWE has a habit of rushing guys to the top then cooling them off too fast.

Hope they don't repeat that cycle with Oba
Have you tried turning it off and on again?

GlassKnight89

That crowd reaction was insane though. You could feel the shift when the three count hit.

Moments like that don't happen often, so you kind of just enjoy it while it lasts

ClaudioHerrera

I didn't expect them to pull the trigger on Oba going over Brock this early, but honestly it feels like a statement more than anything. They clearly see him as a future top guy.

Brock doesn't lose often, so when he does it usually means something bigger is cooking. Curious where they take both of them after this

PhotonBurst76

The post-match silence for a few seconds before the reaction kicked in was perfect. You could feel the crowd processing what just happened.

Those are rare moments in wrestling nowadays

Dave_37

Wrestling fans always say they want new stars, and then when it happens people still hesitate a bit. This feels like one of those moments.

Oba just got launched whether people are ready or not

FinnHalliday

OBA WINS!! I was jumping off my couch when that happened. The crowd reaction alone told you everything, it felt like a proper passing of the torch moment.

Brock still looked like a monster in defeat though, which is kind of important. Nobody comes out of a match with him looking completely normal

Red Wrench

Hot take: I don't think this buries Brock at all. If anything it refreshes him. He can disappear for a bit and come back even more dangerous.

Meanwhile Oba gets the rub of a lifetime. Win-win booking if they follow up properly

Oscar_57

I wasn't sold on Oba before this, but I can't deny he looked like a star in there.

Sometimes one match changes perception completely
rm -rf /bad-ideas

Hannah56

This might actually be one of the better passing-the-torch matches we've seen in a while if they follow through.

The key now is what happens next week, not just what happened tonight

Coder53

This felt like one of those matches people will point back to in a few years and say "that was the start".

Whether Oba reaches that level or not, this is a defining win for him

WaveFunction34

The physicality in that match was unreal. It didn't feel choreographed in the usual sense, it felt like two forces colliding.

That's what made the ending so impactful

I do hope Brock doesn't just vanish for months again without any follow-up. I want some kind of response angle from him.

Even a short promo would add weight to what just happened
Normal is overrated

Wandering Matt

I'm cautiously optimistic. Oba has all the tools, but WWE booking can be unpredictable.

If they stay consistent, this could be huge for him

Northernah

Brock losing always creates chaos in the best way. People immediately start fantasy booking his next 5 moves.

Meanwhile Oba is just out here collecting scalps already

Anvil33

I'm not fully convinced yet. One big win doesn't automatically make someone the next face of the company, especially against someone like Brock.

That said, Oba does feel different. There's a presence there you can't really teach, either you have it or you don't

Zach72

People are sleeping on how clean that finish was. No cheap tricks, no interference, just straight up power vs power.

Wrestling needs more of that sometimes. Let the match speak for itself instead of overbooking everything

Red Builder

I actually think Brock putting him over like that says a lot. He doesn't do that unless there's trust involved behind the scenes.

Oba might be getting fast-tracked harder than anyone expected

Daemon82

Brock vs Oba sounded like a fantasy match a year ago, so seeing it actually happen is still kind of wild to me.

And now Oba winning? That's the timeline I didn't expect

Phil7

I know everyone is hyped but I actually think the match told a deeper story than just "new guy beats legend". It felt like raw physical dominance vs refined brutality.

Oba didn't just win, he survived Brock's usual pace and matched it
// TODO: write better signature

StringTheory83

Can we talk about how scary Oba looked in the final stretch? That isn't normal rookie energy, that's main event aura.

If they protect him right, he could be a problem for the entire roster

Finley_19

I saw someone say this is too soon for Oba, but honestly if not now then when? You don't get many chances to beat Brock clean.

Wrestling is about moments and this was one of them
It's only banter... mostly

LuckySentinel

Part of me thinks Brock actually enjoys putting people over like this when the timing is right. It keeps his character unpredictable.

You never really know if he's building someone up or just having fun with the booking

BiscuitTin

Oba winning clean is what really surprised me. No protection, no escape route, just straight victory.

That's rare against Brock, and it makes the result hit harder

Undertaker00

Brock putting over a new powerhouse like Oba just makes sense in hindsight. It's the same formula they used with others before.

Still, it doesn't make it any less exciting
It's only banter... mostly

ECWAlfie47

If they book Oba properly from here, this could be remembered as one of those "we were there" moments in wrestling history.

No pressure or anything, right?
